Pub Parrot

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 322

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 1   [Williams 30]
SUTTON UNITED - 1    [Dundas 86]

Having somehow managed to extract some much unexpected Christmas cheer in the form or a point at Hampton on Boxing Day, we of course head out to Maidenhead a couple of days later with a little bit of hope in our hearts. Hope that we'll be able to take advantage of the Magpies woeful home form and record just our second win of the season.

The Definition Of Offside

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 322

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2   [Hughes 6. Whiteman 56]
SUTTON UNITED - 0

Happy new year my arse. 2006 began in much the same vein as 2005 on Saturday with yet another miserable performance from the U's. And against another relegation threatened side.

Lukey Ol’ Sutton!

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 510

SUTTON UNITED - 4   [Cornwall 7.8.18. Quinton 81]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 1   [Hughes 75]

Right, so this is it then?

As the years have passed, my excitement in waiting for the football to actually start hasn't diminished much, but what has diminished is my interest in pre-season matches. Sure, I still go and watch 'em, it's football after all! But it's more now just to see who we've picked up, managed to retain than anything else.

Harlem Globetrotter

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 474

SUTTON UNITED - 2    [Gonsalves 75. Honey 89]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2    [O’Connor 43.67]

The week following last Saturdays abject defeat to Weston has been a bloody long one. Although quite why we’d be waiting apprehensively for the next game after that shower of shite is beyond me.

It's Bloody Cold!

CONFERENCE LEAGUE CUP 2nd ROUND
Att: 120

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2    [Smith 13. Cook p83.]
SUTTON UNITED - 4    [Akuamouah 45.54. Fear 62. Gray 68.]

Back in August, we visited York Road on a slightly warmer evening than this and after going behind early on, looked to be heading for our first win until the last minute when the ref & linesman construed to award a penalty for an offence only they saw and we left feeling just a little more than hard done by.

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2    [O’Connor 19.p89.]
SUTTON UNITED - 2    [Corbett 53. Honey 69.]

With the disappointing second half on Saturday condemning us to an opening day defeat, the crew headed to Maidenhead hoping for better things.

Haunted By Haworth

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 491

SUTTON UNITED - 0
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 3   [Haworth 60. Hammond 80. Flack 81]

After Tuesday nights draw, we were somewhat disappointed we’d not managed to return to winning ways against Billericay. But the match itself was somewhat overshadowed by other events.

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 221

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2    [Boyce 14. Gray 16]
SUTTON UNITED - 0

Saturdays encounter with title favourites Canvey is swiftly followed by a Tuesday night trip to not-so-title favourites Maidenhead and the continued hunt for vital points towards that 60-odd point mark that should secure a spot in the top 13 and qualification for the new Conference thingumyjig.

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 4   [Dunno! Sorry!]
SUTTON UNITED - 1   [Watson 46]

Match Reporter: Chalmers

After playing out a hard fought draw on Tuesday and earning a slightly fortunate, but deserved point we return the fixture and head over to York Road, and if we fancy it, visit a couple of pubs also.

I know. Us? Pubs? With our reputation?

Oggy Oggy Oggy

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 446

SUTTON UNITED - 2   [OG 59.88]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2   [O’Connor 40. Allen 65]

Having fallen foul of the stunning footballing wizardry* of Canvey on saturday, it was the visit of Maidenhead that gave us a chance to renew our chase for third spot.

*- This statement may or may not be entirely true.....

Home Game Hangover

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 498

SUTTON UNITED - 2  [Timothy 83. Mison 84]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 1  [Saunders 40]

Feeling somewhat fragile after the previous evenings brave yet fruitless attempt to sample every single beer on offer at the Battersea Festival, yours truly was a tadge glad that today was a home game.

A Man Short

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 253

MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 2  [Cook 41. Channell 46]
SUTTON UNITED - 2  [Haworth 8. Palmer 74]

What is it with us and playing against 10 men??? Every time the opposition lose a man, we go to pieces. Yet when WE lose a man (IE - Canvey) we cave in and get sodding slaughtered. Oh well, just another thing to add to the list of things that piss me off about JR’s teams.

Blobby, Donald, Your Boys Took A Hell Of A Beating!

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att:

SUTTON UNITED - 2  [Haworth 63. Bolt 87]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 0

Sutton made it 3 wins on the trot yesterday with a 2-0 win over struggling Maidenhead. Yes, you read that right. Three wins. In a row.
