3-0 & You Fucked It Up!

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 223

HAYES & YEADING UNITED - 3  [Scott 6. p25. Knight 33]
SUTTON UNITED - 3   [Greene 52. Dundas 73. Haverson 90]

You know, I love last minute equalisers. I really do. Probably maybe even just that little bit more than last minute winners. Yes yes, I know you generally get two more points for the latter, but I can't think of anything better than going mental on a terrace, preferably away from home, when you've just nicked that point late on, especially against the odds. The undeserved ones are the best of all.

Two For The Price Of One...

CONFERENCE SOUTH
ATTENDANCE : 370

SUTTON UNITED - 1   [McBean 59]
HAYES & YEADING UNITED - 2     [Collins 75. Hendry p86]

After Saturdays limp performance in some far flung European outpost  called Wales, which was so poor it literally made Mrs C sick (no really! It had nothing to do with the 342 southern comforts sunk in the course of the afternoon at all!) the last thing we needed was to have to face two sides at once.

Good Ol’ Fashioned 1-0 Hammering

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 518

SUTTON UNITED - 1  [Quinton 22]
HAYES - 0

It's saturday. And you know what that means. Taz has to go out and buy a new fucking iron, thats what! 'Cos he broke his old one when he knocked it off the ironing board on Wednesday.

Better Hayes Ahead?

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 494

SUTTON UNITED - 2   [Gray 11. Akuamouah 16]
Hayes - 1   [Jeffrey 73]

It’s been a tough few weeks for the U’s. 2 shit cup exits (one of these to an amateur side with 10 men!) and given a couple of right going overs in the league, you can imagine the mood around GGL at the moment.

Wakey Wakey!

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 502

SUTTON UNITED - 2    [Gray 69. Corbett 76]
HAYES - 4    [Dyer 37.51.67. Dean 89]

With our recent run of injuries depleting an already thin squad, everyone at the club was pretty relieved to get 10 days off after the Surrey Cup win over Woking to rest and recuperate.

The only problem with this is, we’re notoriously bad after a break.  And this occasion proves to be no exception.

Club v Country

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att: 213

HAYES - 1    [Scott 87.]
SUTTON UNITED - 0

A few weeks before this particular fixture, Chalmers asked me if I was interested in trying to get tickets for the England v Wales World Cup Qualifying clash at Old Trafford. I agreed in principle and checked our fixtures to see which U’s game would possibly sacrificed.

Men On A Mission(er)...

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 368

SUTTON UNITED - 4    [Folwer 7.21. Bailey 9. Boosey 74]
HAYES - 1    [Holsgrove 69p]

Since the 2 sides met on the opening day of the season, Hayes & Sutton’s fortunes have varied quite a bit. And not quite how we’d have liked! From that first game, we felt fairly confident we’d go onto make an impression and Hayes, whilst hard working, lacked firepower.

Tale Of Two Keepers

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 393

HAYES -0
SUTTON UNITED - 0

Ahhhh. It’s good to be back! Well, after what was a somewhat strange summer (it was sunny & we didn’t lose a single friendly!) it’s back to the cut and thrust of the Ryman Premier Division and what better to get the excitement going than an opening day trip to….er Hayes?

Hanlan Hits 50!

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 393

SUTTON UNITED - 2   [Hanlan 43.65]
HAYES - 1  [OG 51]

No, we don’t mean his bloody age! He's not that old. Although it does seem like it. We’re talking about his goal tally in a U’s shirt, you silly.

Last Gasp

RYMAN PREMIER DIVISION
Att: 394

HAYES - 2  [Warner 9. Hodges 24]
SUTTON UNITED - 2  [Bailey 68. Folwer 90]

Following on from tuesday’s FA Cup exit, todays trip to in form Hayes would be a toughie. Unbeaten in their last 5 matches, including a 3-0 thumping of early title challengers, St Albans told us all we needed to know!

This Is The Ball, This Is The Net

NATIONWIDE CONFERENCE
Att: 1014

HAYES - 1  [Charles 67]
SUTTON UNITED - 0

Yet again, Sutton United’s ability to completely ruin my Christmas has done it’s stuff. Another abject 1-0 away defeat to a frankly average side and we miss a shitload of chances.
