Magpie Murder

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 543

DORCHESTER TOWN - 0
SUTTON UNITED - 5    [Douglas 45. Mackie 71. Akuamouah 77. Gray p79.82]

Game number five of the season and at last we get a decent day out!  Sadly, unlike last year, some idiot decided Dorchester should be on a bank holiday Monday thus ruining a perfectly good weekender in 'Muff and delaying the resumption of the mini-golf.

Top of the League? AGAIN?

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 693

SUTTON UNITED - 1   [Mackie 29]
FARNBOROUGH TOWN - 0

If you’d told me in early July that we’d win our first 4 games and be sitting atop the league twice inside that first month, I’d have pissed myself laughing and then demanded a several pints of whatever wonderfully hallucinogenic liquid you’d been drinking.

Anyone Seen Alice?

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 245

YEADING - 0
SUTTON UNITED - 2    [OG 18. Cornwall 90]

Sadly, our tenure as Conference South league leaders lasted precisely 24 hours, with Lewes winning 3-0, ironically here at Yeading, along with Cambridge City’s victory meant we slipped to third.

Bloody disgraceful!! RAINS OUT!

We’re ‘Avin' a Laugh!

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 475

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE - 0
SUTTON UNITED - 1   [Cornwall 79]

Right, whose daft idea was it to have the first away game of the season on a Monday?
Bloody rubbish!

Lukey Ol’ Sutton!

CONFERENCE SOUTH
Att : 510

SUTTON UNITED - 4   [Cornwall 7.8.18. Quinton 81]
MAIDENHEAD UNITED - 1   [Hughes 75]

Right, so this is it then?

As the years have passed, my excitement in waiting for the football to actually start hasn't diminished much, but what has diminished is my interest in pre-season matches. Sure, I still go and watch 'em, it's football after all! But it's more now just to see who we've picked up, managed to retain than anything else.

Saving Ourselves Perhaps?

PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
Att : N/A

LEATHERHEAD - 3   [Stevens 26.40. Charles-Smith 89]
SUTTON UNITED - 1   [Gray p90]

As final warm ups go, this certainly won’t be getting an entry into any forthcoming instructional books or videos entitled “How to make sure you’re properly prepared & raring to go for that first league game!”.

Casually Does It

PRE SEASON FRIENDLY
Att : N/A

CORINTHIAN CASUALS - 0
SUTTON UNITED - 5   [OG 14. Cornwell 23. Tomlin 26.38. Douglas 37]

With the cancellation of two early friendlies, I guess it’s not surprising JR went looking for other opponents to help boost our pre-season programme. Fortunately, our old friends and fellow users of the colour chocolate, Casuals were on hand to offer us a game.
